Good mornin!
Yep, I’m still alive and kicking.. The tailbone seems to be ever-so-slowly getting better *knocking on wood* and I’m hoping that it continues to. Wendie is feeling much better, it turns out she had a nasty nasty flu which migrated to a sinus infection but it’s all cleared up now. While she was sick, Wendie stopped smoking and seriously cut back on caffeine as well.. Both are difficult to give up, to say the least, and I’m very proud of her progress/success for the past 2 weeks!
Finals week is here and I’ve got a little paper to write before I’m done with WR227 (Technical Writing).. should be a piece of cake and I should pull atleast a B, if not an A, out of the class.
We’re supposed to start getting some rain sometime soon which will be nice.. our winter has been abnormally warm and clear. I can’t really complain too much, the weather has really given me some good opportunities to work on my golf game in the past couple of months and I am definitely playing better this year than last. Next up, golfing on the PGA tour. (haha, ya right)
*sigh*.. erg! ouch!
It’s been just about a week and my tailbone is still giving me pain, albeit quite a bit less than last weekend. If the trend keeps up, I’ll be feeling pretty good this weekend. *crossing my fingers*
On the Go front, I recently read a good portion of ‘Lessons and the fundamentals of Go’ again and continue to find this book a great resource! Kageyama writes about each topic in very plain english, breaking out examples that look like positions I’ve seen in my games and explains why particular moves work and others do not.. Wow, I really have to take this book a little bit at a time, there’s a lot of things to learn from this one! The Corvallis Spring Open Go tournament is coming up, May 21, and I’m looking forward to it. I’ll register as my -10.8 (10.8kyu) and play my game the best I can, I feel like I’ve been gaining strength so this will be a great time to get some rated games in to see how I am doing.. My goal of Shodan by August seems like a distant reach, but I’ve always been up for a challenge. :)
Wendie caught a flu bug, she’s been sleeping off and on for the past day or two and is terribly congested/achy/sinus/chest congestion…I wish there was something I could do to make her feel better right away, but her body is going to have to fight it off. This morning she was running a temp of over 100F and that seems to have broke during the day, I’m hoping it will pass soon and she can get to feeling better… :(
