50,000,000 Firefox download!
Holy smokes! This morning just before 9am, Firefox was downloaded for the 50,000,000th (50 million, yea 7 zeros!) time! I’m highly impressed with Firefox and recommend it to everyone I know. More secure, cleaner, and much cooler than IE ever thought to be.
If you don’t have it already, you should feel ashamed of yourself.. Stop what you’re doing, and get it immediately. I’ll make it easy, just click here or this or even here as well.

It’s been awhile since I’ve last posted and even longer since it’s been Go related and I’ve got some good news to share!
Between 4/17 and today, I’ve played and won 10 games in a row. I’ve been putting a lot of emphasis on reading my plays, counting the score, and making full use of my alotted time in these games. There are definitely spots where my luck factor kicked in and I squeezed out the win because of it, but I’ve never had a string of 10 games in a row with wins. I think something clicked in my head recently and my strength is on the rise.. it feels nice to make improvements, I just hope it wasn’t all entirely luck. :) I’ve made a point of playing people both stronger and weaker than me to be sure that it wasn’t my game play as a particular color, though I have played as black two more times than as white in this run. Here are the past 1o games, who played, and the score. I may come back later to post a summary of my thoughts of each game for a reminder of what I need to be doing and for posterity sake:

mmm CherryOS!
All of the sudden I’m finding a bunch of new(er) and cool operating systems. Check out CherryOS, it’s designed to emulate a Macintosh G5 on i386 processors..yup, that means you could run fully native Mac OSX and applications on a Windows box. CherryOS’s website has been flooded by Slashdot users, but eventually they will bring thier site back up. With the new version of OSX coming out soon (can’t wait!) this should look even more appealing to those who might want to try out OSX but not take the financial hit of buying Apple hardware.
// Note that I recommend that you do buy the Apple hardware later as I think it’s the highest quality system and engineering on the market today.. so sleek, so sexy! Try OSX on CherryOS, then go buy a Mac and use the real thing! :)
mmmm Zeta OS!
Check this article detailing the upcoming release of Zeta OS 1.0. This looks pretty sweet, I’m going to have to try it out on the laptop.
