Acupuncture here I come..
Well, as the subject of this post implies, my previous cortisone shots and RF lesioning procedures haven’t fixed my tailbone up all the way, I still have moderate pain and each day it’s a bit different, some better than others.. I’ve decided to go ahead and give Acupuncture a try now. I’ve got an appointment scheduled for 10/14 and I’ve got high hopes of getting some relief. I occassionally visit coccyx.org to read others personal experiences regarding all of the various therapies that people have tried and what has worked for them.. It appears that there are several more ‘alternative’ therapies and it seems that they have fixed some people and not others.. Well, I owe it to myself, my family (especially my wife), and friends to try this out. I’m grateful for all of the support that people have given me and being patient with me when my attitude is poor/depressed.. I’m convinced that the pain and issues I’ve experienced are whats causing my blood pressure to be high and I’ve read that acupuncture has remarkably good affects on this as well. Along with the herbs prescribed, I really need to do some serious adjustments to my diet (or lack thereof) and physical activity (which I need to be more consistent on). Wish me luck! I’ll be posting the results of acupuncture soon after the appointment.
On a side note, my 26th b-day is coming up on the 21st of October.. However trite it may sound, time flies as you get older. Here’s to some hope that my 26th year will be pain free. :) (for clarification, the Coccydynia started 2/23/04)
Everyone has a personality..
I was just reminded of these Jungian personality tests.. Most people have seen this in one form or another, but I figured I would post some links. I’ve tried several different tests online (not necessarily all that reliable tests) and they all seem to peg me as an INTP. I should note that I’ve read the following (and lengthy) description of an INTP in the past and agree that I fit that pretty well (maybe not entirely, but it’s damn close).

And here are some links for a few tests, give them a try and post a comment on your results (if you’re comfortable doing so).

Fall is here!
Well, Fall is just about here.. I guess technically the first day of Fall is tomorrow. Nonetheless, I am thoroughly enjoying the weather lately.. occassionally we get a day in the 80’s but mostly we’re back to lower-mid 70’s with some rain mixed in. God I love being an Oregonian! I can’t wait for the rain!
Well, I’ve got some tailbone news.. I got another ‘RF Lesioning’ procedure done a week and a half ago. The pain is slowly subsiding but it doesn’t appear to have totally fixed me. I’m expecting the pain to be entirely gone but it just isn’t happening. Next up is acupuncture and following that I will explore other ‘alternative’ medicine. We’ll see how it goes..
Wendie and I are prepping up for school starting within the next two weeks for both of us. I’m stoked that Wendie is going to school for massage therapy.. Taking classes after work is quite a commitment to make and I’m going to do everything in my power to lend a hand where I can. My classes this next term are going to be pretty simple, Structured Systems Analysis as well as Data Modelling and SQL. Geek classes rule.. :)
I recently invested in an Ipaq rx3115 (PDA) which I am highly enjoying.. I can synch it to my calendar/notes/tasks/contact information/blahblahblah and it’s got some nice software for recording and reviewing Go games. Its’ got wi-fi and bluetooth for my connectivity needs and it’s an all around kick ass rig. I got it refurbished from HP for around $180.. Plopped a 512mb SD card in it and I’m off and running with fresh mp3’s and all of my data in tow. right on!
On the Go front, lately I’ve been (re)reading books and just kind of trying to settle into my Go game.. I can’t and shouldn’t expect that I will raise in strength over night, and infact putting more emphasis on my strength actually makes me a weaker player. It’s very tricky this way, but the game works in such a way that if you are overly aggressive you will lose and if you’re overly passive you will lose.. You have to find a balance and I’m still trying to find my own way. More on that later..
