More paintings..

03.25.2007

Today I sketched out a second take on an abstract sunset painting.. I had in mind the sequence I’d paint it in and wanted to give it my best shot to make what I had visualized. As you’ll see at the bottom of this post, my first attempt was rather elementary but it was a great exercise in learning to blend color better and the order of the painting. I’m really pleased with the second attempt, though I’ve got plenty of room for improvement like making the lake appear to be more like its a reflective color.. *shrug* Maybe I’ll check out some more books! I’m really enjoying the whole process of painting, from reading about it, to the original sketch and painting it in one sitting. Happy Spring Break all!

Indian food is good!!

03.13.2007

Had lunch with friends/co-workers/ex-co-workers this afternoon at the local Indian food restaurant here in Corvallis. Damn, that stuff is good!! I’ve been to the Evergreen Restaurant before and am always pleased with the buffet selection. This time out I had some goat curry (mmmmm goat!), salad, soup, makhani chicken (butter chicken!), and tandoori chicken.. all very good dishes, but the tandoori is by far the best (and most Weight Watchers friendly), but my only gripe is that it definitely could have been more spicy. The chicken is marinated in yogurt with garam marsala, cayenne, garlic, ginger, and other spices before being grilled or barbequed. I found a recipe for tandoori chicken online and plan on trying it out in the near future.

This is just too much!!

http://www.quotesfromtheoffice.com/

Really, a site devoted to documenting quotes from “The Office”.. hahaha, ok there are some really good ones, but this just seems to be a little bit much! Nonetheless, it’s worth a few minutes to recall some of the episodes you might have already seen.. “Booze Cruise” was funny, especially Dwight “steering” the ship with the fake wheel that kids would use..

Angela: Hey, come inside and talk to me.
Dwight Schrute: I can’t! Do you want us to run aground woman!?

Happy Monday.. sorta.
